The rooms are small and in good condition, in charming classical Parisian style (Louis XIII-Louis XIV) with wooden beams, stone walls and warm coloured fabric just like in a medieval castle. They were recently refurbished and offer all basic comforts.

This is a great hotel, conveniently located near the station and close to the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is nicely decorated and was beautifully clean. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed very good breakfast. As has been said, the soundproofing is excellent, although traffic is minimal during the night. We were travelling by bicycle and the hotel had storage space for these and we were able to leave the bikes during a day spend touring the city. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The Hotel deChampagne was a very nice surprise. I work in the organic health food business and it was great to find organic bread, butter, eggs, tea and coffee included in the basic breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was easy and cheap. I was there to work in an organic fair, so it was nice to find there was a multi-screen cinema just a few minutes' walk away, so I could relax in the evening without driving. There are also several restaurants within a few minutes' distance from the hotel. I came by car, but as the hotel is near the railway station, it would be convenient for rail travellers. Despite this, the rooms were quiet and pleasant.
